Making a protocol collection
To create a protocol, you need only create a regular document, and then click the "Template" checkbox. This will change the behaviour of the document in several ways:
- Whenever someone opens the document, they will be asked if they rather create a new document from it - this prevents others from accidentally editing the template
- If there are LIMS sections in the template, they will not be executed. Thus you can safely prepare Insert sections without the data appearing in the database
- There are special search buttons to find all documents marked as templates
This is all you need to do. To make life easier for you, consider also adding suitable tags as you might wish to further filter them while searching. You can set up "favourite searches" to quickly recall lists of protocols relevant for your work.
